OK.  I have a question to pose to all who read.

Is it truly possible to be “culturally relevant” in a postmodern society that questions all authority and denies the ideal of an absolute truth while retaining Biblical integrity?

Last night, my professor said something that really stuck with me.  He said that you have to know which hill is worth dying for.  When he said that, I thought it was a weird statement to make.  But–when I thought about it…it made me think.  Some people will leave a church because the music isn’t to their liking.  Some will leave because the website isn’t progressive enough.  Or too progressive.  I’ve been there, so I’m not casting judgment or attempting to remove a speck from someone’s eye while bludgeoning them with my own blindness.

So, what are the hills worth dying for?  I don’t have a complete list formulated, but I certainly have a few.  Sound Biblical doctrine:  the inerrancy of scripture; the divinity of Jesus; that God is alive and not dead.  I’ve just picked a few things.  I know that the list will be longer.

What are you hills?
